Plum and Apple Crumble

I always remeber having apple crumble for dessert during the winter months.  The soft cinnamon spiced apple with the crunchy buttery oat topping was like a big warm hug on those freezing winter nights (yes I know Aussie cold not American cold) Dessert was always a big deal for us as we only ever had it if we were expecting company.  This with the addition of plums is BRILLIANT !!

Ingredients:
4 Granny Smith Apples
8 Ripe Plums
100gm Plain Flour
100gm Cold Butter
100gm Rolled Oats
100gm Sugar
2 t-spoons Ground Dried Ginger

Method:
Pre-heat the oven to 180 C.  Stone and quarter the plums and peel and dice the apple.

Add to the pot with a dash of water and 50gm of the sugar and place onto a medium heat.

While the apple is cooking combine the Flour, Oats, Ginger and diced cold butter and rub together until it resembles bread crumbs.  Place to one side.

Stop cooking the fruit before they completely fall apart to allow the crumble to have some texture.

Allow to cool and get the ramikins ready and the crumble mixture.

Divide the mixture between the ramikins evenly.  4 generous crumbles or 6 smaller ones.

Divide the crumble topping between the ramikins and try to ensure the topping covers it evenly.

Place into the oven and bake until the crumble browns and the fruit mixture is bubbling.

Serve hot with icecream or warm with cream.  Sensational.  ENJOY !!
